MacKenzie Testimonial
"I have worked on a Leach wheel since 1950, and
still find it the best wheel for making the sort of utilitarian pots
which I make. It is a comfortable wheel and I can work a full eight-hour
day and not be strained or tired. This wheel is the product of years
of experimentation and development. This has resulted in a design that
has a quiet, smooth treadle action, which allows for an intuitive speed
response, according to what is happening under your hands. There is
an ample slop tray, room for tools and ware boards that can be mounted
on brackets in front of the wheel. It is, I believe, the ideal wheel
for throwing up to 30 pounds of clay. (If you are into 150 pound pots
then you need something else.)"
"The wheels I work on were made in England and will outlast me
by many years. I have seen the wheels Mark Polglase is building, and
they are the equal in every way to the ones I work with; I have no hesitation
in recommending them. Given ordinary care and maintenance they could
be passed from one generation to the next, and so on and so on and so
on..."
